Project Stakeholder Engagement & Communications Manager (EL1)

Randstad is partnering with a federal government department to recruit a highly skilled Project Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Manager. This role plays a lead role in the department’s stakeholder engagement and communications on major remediation projects.

The focus of this position is to work closely with the Project Management Team to develop complex stakeholder engagement and communication strategies and oversee their implementation to maximize project effectiveness.

Position Details

  • Pay Rate: $75- $95 + Super
  • Location: Canberra, ACT.
  • Contract Length: Initial 12-month contract
  • Security Clearance: Must hold or be able to obtain a Baseline Clearance.
  • Eligibility: Australian citizens only.

Role Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Strategy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain Stakeholder Engagement Framework strategies to support major projects.
  • Project Communication: Lead project-specific communications strategies for internal staff and external stakeholders, including regulated entities, industry, and community groups.
  • Strategic Advice: Provide media and stakeholder plans and advice to the Director, the Executive, and senior colleagues.
  • Stakeholder Consultation: Actively consult with stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for the project through collaboration.
  • Internal Collaboration: Actively engage with scientific and regulatory subject matter experts to understand the pipeline of projects requiring support.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate:

  1. Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Media, Communications, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Extensive demonstrated knowledge and experience in complex stakeholder engagement and communications through change.
  3. Strategic Execution: Proven experience in developing and successfully implementing stakeholder engagement plans.
  4. Problem Solving: Proven ability to provide advice on complex problem solving and issues management.
  5. Sector Knowledge: An understanding of, or the ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of, the agricultural and veterinary sectors and their regulation.
  6. Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal and networking skills, and the ability to be a highly articulate team player.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in a regulatory environment.
  • Prior government experience.
  • Change management and/or project management certification.
